The Cat 315 is a compact tracked excavator with an operating weight of approximately 15,400 kg (34,000 lb) and a Cat C3.6 diesel engine delivering 80.9 kW (108 hp) of net power—or 82 kW (110 hp) according to ISO 9249 and ISO 14396. It meets EU Stage V and US EPA Tier 4 Final emissions standards and is compatible with biodiesel up to B20.
The excavator features a 4.65 m boom and a 3.0 m stick, achieving a maximum digging depth of approximately 5,990 mm (19'7") and a ground reach of approximately 8,690 mm (28'6"). The maximum hydraulic flow is 276 l/min and the working pressure is 5,075 psi (35,000 kPa), with a swing pressure of 3,770 psi (26,000 kPa). The swing speed is up to 12 rpm, and the maximum torque is approximately 35 kN m.
The excavator's dimensions are approximately 7.53 m long (without blade), 2.49 m wide (with 500 mm shoes), and a cab height of approximately 2.81 m. The diesel tank holds 187 l, and the AdBlue tank holds 21 l. The cooling system has a volume of 15 l, while the hydraulic oil circuit holds 138 l, of which 72 l are in the tank alone.
Features include an ergonomic cab with ROPS protection, touchscreen display, air suspension, heated seat, LED lighting, automatic fan speed control, drift-free hydraulic valves, 2D e-fence, and camera systems. Several boom variants, different shoe widths, and numerous attachments such as hydraulic breakers, tilt rotators, mulchers, and backhoe buckets are available.
The Cat 315 combines compact dimensions with powerful performance, effective hydraulics and modern technology – ideal for versatile applications in civil and sewer construction or on confined construction sites.
