Caterpillar at DiecastEurope – Iconic construction machines with history as detailed model vehicles

Diecast Masters is the leading licensee for scale collector models based on Caterpillar vehicles and is constantly expanding its product range with historic and contemporary vehicles in a wide variety of scales. As the European importer, DieCastEurope carries the complete range available.

The Caterpillar brand, known worldwide by the abbreviation Cat , has stood for heavy construction machinery, impressive technology, and robust performance for decades. It's no wonder that Caterpillar models also play a central role in model making – whether as collector's items, detailed replicas, or functional RC vehicles.

The History of Caterpillar – From Innovation to Global Market Leader

Caterpillar was founded in 1925 through the merger of two pioneering companies: Holt Manufacturing Company and CL Best Tractor Co. The aim was to develop efficient machines for agriculture and construction - most notably the famous Twenty crawler tractor , which is considered the predecessor of modern bulldozers.

Over the decades, Caterpillar has become a symbol of American engineering excellence. From the construction of massive dump trucks for open-pit mining to high-precision mini excavators for urban projects —the range is impressive.

Popular Caterpillar vehicles in model making

Many fans and collectors are enthusiastic about Caterpillar model vehicles in various scales (e.g., 1:50, 1:87, or 1:16). Among the most popular are:

• Cat Bulldozer – classic with blade and ripper, popular in the RC sector
• Cat excavator (hydraulic excavator) – with movable boom, ideal for off-road operations
• Cat wheel loader – with functional bucket for a real construction site feeling
• Cat crawler dozers – for fans of heavy machinery with impressive track operation
• Cat dump trucks – giant replicas from the mining industry
• Cat skid steer loaders and mini excavators – perfect for smaller model building scenes
