The second-generation Toyota Crown, released in 1962, was available as a van and station wagon. The vans registered as commercial vehicles were called Masterline, while the station wagons treated as passenger cars were called Crown Custom. These, too, were distinguished by their names. A significant change in 1965 was the extension of the front end to accommodate a six-cylinder engine. After minor exterior changes in the fall of the following year, the Masterline name was dropped with the generational change in 1967.
