The R34 was the last Skyline with an inline-six engine. It was a car that marked several pivotal moments in Nissan's history, including the end of production at the former Prince Murayama factory midway through its model life. After its introduction in 1998, the standard model, with the exception of the GT-R introduced the following year, was produced for only three years, until 2001. However, it has since become a popular car not only in Japan but worldwide, even abroad, where it was not officially sold.
