The Cat D9T is a powerful, large-track dozer with an operating weight of approximately 48,500 kg (depending on equipment and undercarriage configuration). It is powered by a robust Cat C18 diesel engine delivering approximately 268 kW (360 hp) net power and meeting EU Stage IIIA and US Tier 3 emissions standards.

The track drive is provided by a planetary gear design with multiplied final drives, ensuring high traction and load capacity. The travel speed is within the standard range of 0 to 11 km/h forward and up to 12 km/h reverse, ensuring smooth acceleration and precision in every working area.

The equipment includes a large, levelable semi-U or U-shaped blade with a capacity of approximately 8.5 m³ – optionally also with a push-arm design for deep plowing applications. The blade tilt can be controlled hydraulically and supports grade control systems (2D/3D), enabling particularly precise grading.

The cabin is soundproofed and ROPS/FOPS-certified, offering comfort features such as heated air-suspension seats, automatic air conditioning, modern joysticks, and a touchscreen display for machine monitoring. A rearview camera and LED work lighting ensure safe working conditions.

Load-sensing hydraulics enable energy-saving flow adjustment, and separate pumps supply the blade and leveling controls independently. Cat Product Link is available for fleet management, as are features like AutoCarry™ and Stable Blade Technology, which enhance the Today D9T's level of precision and operator comfort.

Maintenance points such as filters and lubrication points are easily accessible, numerous maintenance intervals are extended, and hydraulically operated cooling fans support thermal management efficiency.
