The Cat D8T is a medium-sized tracked dozer with an operating weight of approximately 41 tons. It is powered by a Cat C15 diesel engine with a net power of approximately 298 kW (400 hp) and meets modern emissions standards. The dozer features a fully automatic 4-speed transmission with a lock-up clutch for efficient power transmission.

The D8T is equipped with a semi-U-shaped blade with a capacity of approximately 10.7 cubic meters. Depending on the model, various track shoe widths are available, which influence soil pressure. The machine is robustly built and designed for demanding earthmoving applications.
