The Bell B30 is an articulated dump truck (also called a "dumper") designed for demanding off-road applications. It belongs to the E-Series of the South African manufacturer Bell Equipment and is particularly in demand in construction, earthmoving, and open-pit mining projects. With its all-wheel drive (usually available as a 6×6 or, less commonly, a 4×4), the B30 offers excellent traction and off-road capability – even in difficult conditions.
The current electric version of the B30 is powered by a powerful Mercedes-Benz diesel engine with approximately 329 hp (approx. 246 kW), which, combined with an automatic Allison transmission, ensures efficient power transmission. The vehicle can transport up to 28 tons of payload and reach speeds of up to 50 km/h—making it attractive even for short stretches of road between worksites.
The modern driver's cab is equipped with a ROPS/FOPS protection system, air conditioning, a large control display, and optional assistance systems such as an on-board scale or rearview camera. Comfort and visibility are paramount to make long working days as pleasant as possible for the driver.
A practical advantage of the B30 is its relative compactness: under certain conditions, it can be moved on the road without a low-loader, which makes it particularly flexible in construction site operations.
