The FJ56V Land Cruiser is based on the FJ55V, which was introduced in 1967 as the successor to the long-body 40-series Land Cruiser produced until then. The all-wheel drive system with a car-like body was unique in Japan at the time and enjoyed considerable popularity in overseas markets such as North America. In Japan, it was also frequently used as a service and emergency vehicle. Its charming design earned it many fans and remains popular even today, more than half a century after its introduction.
