The first television drama produced by Ishihara Productions was the series "Taikōki," starring Watari Tetsuya. The first installment, "Taikōki: Days of Battle," began in 1976 and was a social drama that deliberately avoided action and carefully portrayed a detective. However, as the series progressed with "Part II" (1977) and "Part III" (1978), entertainment elements such as chases were added, and the series became the basis for the later "Seibu Keisatsu" series.
